iPod iPod/cd burn help

my iTunes wont read cd unless my iPod is plugged in. and even then i get 'checking media' for like 5 mins then it doesnt do anything. and if i dont plug iPod in at all, the iTunes text box flashes "Disc burner or software not found" please help me.

factory installed. im only 15 so iidk much about installing yet

lol the only idea i had was that maybe you didn't have patchburn/proper drivers/whatever on an after-market drive 😱

ye i looked into patchburn and i downloaded it also. didnt work at all. can u still help me? lol
