Hey.

I have an iPod Classic 5th Gen. (iPod with video) 80GB and it has an issue.

The earphone jack-hole doesn't work right. There's interruption. I can hear the audio only left or right of earphone. How to fix this? Any user experienced that? I've seen some youtube videos (repairing) but it looks like it's not a piece of cake and i am worried about damaging the device. What do you suggest?

Note: I know it's and old device but it's sound quality is as good as my iPhone 5s. So i want to use it. And it's 80GB !

Thank you.

You need to replace the headphone jack/hold switch cable. It's fairly cheap to buy and easy to replace.

Hardest part is opening up the iPod, however the plastic iPod Video faces are easy to pry open. The harder ones are the Classics with the aluminum faces.
