Hey all - contemplating upgrading my iPod whenever the hard drive dies. I see there are proper 1.8" ZIF SSDs, or then there is the iFlash set up (which I think I'd go for the single SD card version since it gets the longest runtime apparently - I'd do a single 256GB card).

Any opinions on which is the better route? I like that the SSD fits properly as it is the same size as the HDD, but that's trivial I know. I just wish the iFlash was the same size as the HDD so that I could reuse the bumpers and cushions. Any other pros or cons?

Hi,
I would recommend the SD card version because it is much cheaper. And you don‘t even have to use the adaptors from iflash. ZIF to Compact Flash adaptors cost circa 2 bugs, CF to SD adaptors under 10 bugs.

Regards
Torsten

A few months ago I bought an iFlash Solo SD card adaptor (bought from the iFlash website) and swapped out the original HD in a 5th Generation iPod for a 64GB SD card. The whole process was very easy and the adaptor works great!
