Hello,
i'm using an iPod Classic 160 GB (version: 1.0.1).
After experiencing several sync process issues with iTunes my iPod only shows up the Apple logo and nothing else anymore!
I already tried to "Restore" manually with the recommended "hold-button method" but nothing changed so far.
Sometimes the internal hard disk makes some "strange" click noises and the Apple logo disappears for moment and comes back for hours again. If i push the hold-button back and forth and hold the select and menu buttons for over 15 seconds i'm able to shutdown the iPod but after starting its up again the Apple logo is only visible.
No way to reactivate the regular menu screen anymore.
I'd appreciate any kinda assistance.
Many thanks in advance ;)
Cheers, Ralf

It sounds like your hard drive has failed. The same thing happened to my ipod in May. Hopefully you can take it back to the store you purchased it from or send it to Apple.
