iPod iPod Classic OOW Replacement..

Hi just rung apple because my iPod has died on me, and because I'm out of warranty they're wanting me to fork out £92 for a refurbished iPod with a 2 month warranty 😱
I wouldn't mind so much, but the thing is, the apple guy said that I can't add applecare to it..
Is this true?
As the last two iPod classic's I've had, have died on me..
And I don't really trust a three month warranty tbh..

Yup. Aple Care MUST be added with in one year of your ORIGINAL purchase. So your are out of luck.

Yeah, you're screwed.

My previous classic died and they wanted $180, and I was thinking: $70 and thats a brand new iPod classic (I had the previous 80GB).

Now that I have a new one (which now has a problem outside of warrenty) for Xmas, my old one's just... $200, paper weight (would sell it if all my photos werent still on there).
