Everytime I plug in my Ipod. My computer finds new hardware "digital still camera" within 5 seconds I get the blue screen of death. It is 1 1/2 years old has worked fine until recently. Computer functions fine other then this.
Apple told me to disable the camera but I cant do that unless I can plug it in.

    Any ideas or other threads?

    Same Problem

Only my ipod is about 3 weeks old, and so have heaps of space left on it!

I have tried resetting the ipod, downloading the latest itunes, using the back USB port, taking everything out of other USB ports, openingup I-tunes before connecting ipod...

Bit peeved as I've only just bought the thing!!

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Found The Solution!!!!

Ok - did you download any photos onto your ipod? Delete them, and then try connecting your ipod again - worked for me! (Can't take credit for it - found it on another website).

Really hope this works for you!

Have you tried connecting the iPod to a friend's computer and seeing whether its also recognized as a digital camera? Likewise, check if your iPod has disk mode enabled, and if so, whether there is a DCIM folder on the iPod "drive." You should also attempt to restore the iPod (which reinstalls the base software on it and clears it of all data) from another person's computer through iTunes, and reloading your music, etc. back onto it.

    Had same issue with iPad

Everytime connect my iPad would see and try to install it as a digital still camera which would then crash my XP PC.

This happened as I moved synched pictures on my PC to another drive. If you put them back in exactly the same directory - presto the problem goes away

    Thanks iPoduser :)

I find the same problem if I use PS Express to edit a photo on my iPad. To resolve have to delete edited photo on iPad before connecting
