iPod iPod Disconnect problem

I have repetadly been getting both of these messages when updating my iPod.

During update:



And after, trying to eject:



Any ideas on how to fix this?

Do you have disk mode enabled and any Finder windows open?

If so close the Finder windows.

I have disk mode enabled yes, but the real problem is that I have nothing else running. Just iTunes.
