It's too bad you can't use the iPod 5G Dock to use as an infrared receiver for Front Row on non-mobile Macs (Mac Pro). I have an iPod Dock and a remote that could easily communicate with the Mac but, I don't think there's the software to do it. Apple would have to make some sort of update to do it.

Just a thought.
 
It's been suggested before. It wouldn’t be possible through a software update, because the dock doesn't pass a signal from the IR receiver back along the USB cable to the computer, but instead from the IR receiver into the iPod dock connector. That’s the way it’s wired.
 
I've heard about it working if you just use a different reciever with the remote, but it's too bad you can't use the dock as a reciever. That'd be really convenient
