Ok, so I feel like ive been ripped off here now. The ipod touch didnt come with video out, and I read that you had to buy a dock for it to have AV out. So I bought the dock, and the bastard still doesn't work...

does anyone know what ipod dock one needs to buy in order to get video out on an ipod touch?

Thanks,
Arisian

I know with the iPhone you had to update to update 1.1.1 to get video but I can't remember if the same applies for the iPod Touch? Have you got the latest update?

If it isn't that then the reason could be because you need either a composite or component AV cable. Unfortunately it's a sucky new that Apple has done so you can't use the old AV cables that were compatible with previous iPods that simply plugged into the headphone socket.

The cable costs £35 (or $50) from the Apple online store. Thats about all I can think of I'm afraid but hope this helps!

read the part about me having an AV cable + the dock

I see no mention that you purchased the new $49 A/V cable. You also do not mention if you bought the old $39 dock or the new $49 dock.

I do not believe you need the dock to do video out - just the $49 cable. If you want to use it with the dock, be sure you have the new $49 dock that comes with the remote.

By the way, the apple online store makes it VERY clear which accessories work with which iPod. You only have yourself to blame for being ripped off...

Calm down there Judge Judy :D I have the dock that works, but the AV cable I was using I purchase 2 months ago for my wifes ipod photo and the other other AV cable was for mine. I was using the wrong av cable.

Try not to be an ass next time also.

Thanks for the info

I was wondering if I could display my photos on my iPod Touch on my TV and through my stereo. Thanks for the links. Now I know that I can!
