Hey everyone, I have a question but I'm afraid I already know the answer. My mom had a fifth generation 80 gig ipod video. She also has Windows Vista.

For some reason, instead of restoring her ipod via itunes (which is what she was going for) she FORMATTED the thing through My Computer. Now, it is stuck on the black screen with the apple logo. It goes blank maybe every five seconds, makes the same clicking noises then repeats.

Now I'm assuming in the formatting, ALL the software was removed from the ipod, essentially making it impossible to start-up because it has no OS.

I guess my questions are, am I right on this, and is there anything that can be done?
