ipod was in the bottem of my bag and water bottle opened. ipod got wet and didnt notice for over an hour. everything seems to be fine after leaving it for a few days in rice, ina hot press except for the touch screen not working at all! the lockscreen comes up fine (though the screen is a tad blotchy) and the computer recognises it ok. i have no warrenty as i bought it off ebay a year and a half ago! please help!

you can try doing a full restore from a backup but I seriously doubt it's software. First I would make sure that all data is backed up.

If it is hardware and your ipod hasn't got a warranty (not that it would matter as water damage isn't covered) then unfortunately there's not much you can do. You can try repairing it by buying parts (which will be expensive) but even still, that's no guarantee at all.

just tried the full restore and hasnt changed it, still zero response from the touch screen:(

Water kills electronics, friend. Sorry about your loss. But now you can wait in anticipation for the 4th Gen Touch :D

Same problem here. Does anyone think it would be worth trying to replace the digitizer (only $10 on amazon). Or is it more likely that the problem is elsewhere.

I guess it's worth a try but I doubt it will make a difference. You could sell it on eBay as water damaged, and salvage what you can of it.

Stupid water....
