iPod ipod hard drive replacement

my friend just gave me the 1st generation ipod, but its not working so im guessing its an issue with the hard drive in it. i really want to get it to work, but am having trouble finding a replacement hard drive for it online that i can pop in there. any help is appreciated, and the size isnt that important to me. i just want to get it to work
