The battery life went from 8 to 18 hours from the first to the second generation. Was this due to switching to a better battery, improved electronics, or both?

The reason I ask is that I'm thinking of buying a 1st gen mini and suspect the battery will need replacing soon (a year or so). So I'm wondering if the battery life would improve beyond the 8 hour rating.

Thanks - Greg

I think it mostly had to do with better batteries. I had a 1st gen green mini for a while and I was looking into buying a new battery for it. Most of the ones available say you can get up to 16hours of running time.

Recently I heard a similar post and someone said the batteries were in fact the same but it was the electronics that change... Not too sure if I heard it right or not; but you might want to wait for a few more replies or do some more research.
