iPod iPod Nano 2Gen won't work after sync...

I plug in my daughters 2nd Gen iPod nano and everything is fine. It does the sync and battery eventually says charged. I eject from iTunes and then when I unplug it>it is dead. It works great plugged in, dead unplugged.

I did a restore, and it has the up to date software (1.1.3).

Any ideas?
