A friend has an ipod nano 6th generation. The battery is dead-won't take a charge. Will an audio-usb cable from a nano connected to his iMac enable him to access his music through iTunes?

I would use the normal 30 pin USB cable (assuming the Nano uses that) and leave it connected to the computer for several hours. It will hopefully then become usable when attached to the computer even if it won't run by itself.
