iPod Ipod nano Battery power

I have a quite dull job at the moment so I use my nano to listen to audiobooks. I often have my nano on for 9-10 hours on straigh every day but shouldn't that cause some serious battery thrashing?

Would it be better to have the powercord plugged in as I would do with a macbook?

Yes but that only includes continued playback. It doesn't include when the backlight and stuff is on.

Plus, outright battery capacity is kinda irrelevant. We're talking about minimising the cycles the iPod battery will use up whilst at work. 🙂
