Okay, the nano tubes are weeks off. At the moment, the rear of my nano is protected with a cut down PDA screen film and the nano screen has a cut down Martin Fields iPod screen cover protecting it. The rest is open to abuse. :-s

My biggest worry is how to keep it safe in my bag though. Anyone have any suggestions? I was wondering if there were any little neoprene cases that might just fit the nano? Or something else similar? Some kind of case designed for the mini might be okay I suppose. A bit too big though.

Just spotted this:

They have a skins and sleeves/cases for the nano. I quite like some of them but it looks like the top stays open so not the best solution. Pity it's not a drawstring top.

Since the nano is flash based, it's more scratching I'd be worried about. They look pretty tough in terms of actual damage from concussion (based on Ars Technica's review). So, a skin really SHOULD be sufficient for all but the hardest usage as long as it covered the screen as well. If only they made a clear one; I think the nano looks just fine the way it is.

I'm really only looking for scratch protection. I'm not sure if I like the tubes or not. I'd quite like something to keep it scratch free when it's not in use but I'm happy to use it "nude" if I'm just listening on the way to work.

If I was doing something a bit less pedestrian, I think the tubes would be useful then maybe but just sticking it in my suit pocket for the trip to work is fairly safe... probably. :)

Altoids tin

Try throwing the nomad in an altoids tin with some padding on the sides. Creative zen users have made some sweet cases with those tins. In fact, can anyone confirm that the Nano fits into an altoid case. I'm dying to know.
