will it work with the original ipod nano case or will it move around? i know it's aluminum but i just like everything to be protected. also if i put it in the armband with the protective casing would it fit?

I don't know for sure but the new one has the same dimensions apart from the depth which is 0.1" smaller (or so)...

It will fit in an iskin not 100% but it definitely fits in there. I'm sure with a bit of manipulating it will sit in an armband too not the way its meant to but usable I'm sure.

my plastic case (brand name not included) doesn't fit, as the new nano is a bit wider (round edges). i'm pretty sure most old "hard" cases won't fit the new nano.

You'd have to cut a new hole because of the different dock connector/head phone jack spacing, right ?
