It's the stupid consumers with the video cameras that can cause a privacy problem through illegal recording. It's not Apple's fault that consumers can use the electronic product illegally.

Instead of worrying about privacy, I'm waiting for the first crime to be captured with an iPod camera!

There are many places where camera phones -- any kind of cameras -- are strictly prohibited. Defense contractors, military installations. Enforcement varies from warnings to outright dismissal.

My dad downgraded his phone so he could bring it into nuclear plants.

Don't feel bad. Guys always pick on chicks that are cool.. If you were completely ignored, there'd be trouble.

This is really frustrating. It doesn't even have a flash. I try and take a photo and it comes out all blurry. The video, wow, low light in there, not a chance. Seriously, this is over the top.

Was at the gym this morning - two fellas in the locker room were playing grab ass and taking cell phone pictures over the toilet stall door when their buddy was on the can. Not sure what was going on there - whatever blows their skirt up, I guess. I think a ban on idiots and perverts would be much more effective.

I work at a couple of gyms, and I think that the "ban" is less an outright ban than a policy that allows for immediate ejection of anyone who would use such devices inappropriately. I highly doubt gym staff are going to be screening for camera devices, but having the ban "on the books" so to speak will allow them to deal with incidents swiftly.

I have noticed that it seems to be policy now for cell phone makers here to disable the ability to turn off a shutter sound on cameras, which is probably a more effective deterrent.

I think the bigger problem is irresponsible use among young people. Think of all the situations that have gotten press about some teen girl taking nude or semi-nude photos of a peer in the locker room at school and then sending them out to everyone. Teen girls can be so cruel. I'm not saying adults don't do dumb things like this, but it gets major press when the people involved are underage with child pornography laws and stuff.

On the other hand think what the boys in Porky's could have done with an iPod Nano at the peephole. :D

This sounds like a winner to me. This video taping has gone too far. Ban all of the electronics. It's okay by me.

Banning for nudity, is needed, as to what shows up on youtube, but also for corporate privacy. Courts already ban ANY recording devices, including cellphones.

Too much sexting is going on in our youths schools as it is.

Then there are the places that cell phones, regardless of the type/camera or not, get checked at the door. Complete sterile work environments. :)

As for the article, technology poses problems and will continue to do so. Not sure what would be the best solution. That may be why Apple did not incorporate a digital camera into the Nano since it is a popular workout device. Video is less resolution.
