I was just wondering if anyone can help. My iPod does not seem to be charging and I am trying to figure out why.

About a week ago I noticed that my iPod wasn't charging, or the charging seemed to be intermittent. This made me assume there was a problem with the cable (a non apple cable, although sold by a reputable shop).

So I bought a new cable (manufactured by Polaroid) and it still had trouble charging.

Oddly enough, despite my device not aknowledging the cable in anyway, it does active it. I powered down my iPod, plugged in the cable and then connected it to a power source. That was enough to reboot the device.

The only thing I can think of is, either the device is refusing to accept power from non apple cables, or the port has been damaged in some way. I am going to go to an apple shop later today and see if using one of their cables will help.

Has anyone else experienced this? There are some posts about iOS 9 causing charging issues, does this match anyone elses experience.

Use a tooth pick to clean any fluff out of the charging port. It worked for me when I thought my charging port was broken!
