iPod touch Ipod not showing

Hey

soooo the very first thing I downloaded for my ipod was the nes emulator but how do I load roms on? I was assuming I could open the ipod like any drive and copy the files onto it but my ipod never shows up as a drive.

For every disappointment or problem I've read on here, the answer seems to be to hope that Apple will include a fix for it in the next update.

Have they got the Touch totally wrong or what?

I know it's a joy to use (when it works) but it seems unnecessarily restricted.

so is there no way to get things on it? Even ebooks would be nice. Is there an app I can get so I can download things online?
