ipod on ipad

    how do I delete all songs from the iPod part of my iPad... it takes up too much memory? I want to reload with just playlists

    In iTunes, select your iPad. You should see lots of tabs near the top of iTunes, that say, Summary, Apps, Music, etc. Click on Music. Click the round box next to "Selected playlists, artists, and genres." Now you should see boxes that lets you select which playlists you want to sync.

    And no, there's no need to drain the battery before recharging, just recharge whenever you feel like it.

    thanks, but I think I need to clear it first- delete all the songs and start over... or will Itunes clear it for me at the same time?

    iTunes will clear it for you.

    It clears it when you apply the new settings.

    thanks everybody... I guess I should have gotten the 32 gb instead of the 16 :(

    I dunno, upside is that you actually look after the content on your iPad, with mine, I just sync anything to it, which makes it a mess half the time.
