I have a 4g ipod running on windows that erased all songs. I tried to reformat by going to my computer, right click and clicking reformat. It does nothing. It acts as if I didn't do anything. I don't have any original disks. And the restore function on my itunes doesn't do anything either. What else can I try???

You can't reformat from My Computer, assuming you are using iTunes 7 you should be able to reformat using that, otherwise you'll need the Apple restore software

how do you reformat using itunes? Is a reformat the same as a "restore"? If so, Itunes gives me an error message. The link you posted is just a link to the Itunes download. I dont see a restore software.

i am fuming right now because there's no way to do anything with this stupid ipod. It even threw my computer off and I got the blue screen of death on my PC when I tried to restore it... 😡
