I feel really stupid asking this but...I just got the iPod 20g and I'm really confused about the fact that it seems that if you delete the music off of the computer it deletes it off the iPod. I have a bunch of cds and I don't want every single song forever stored on my computer but I want it on my iPod. Am I missing something here? Are my setting wrongs or to the iPod and computer have to be the same in order to have the music on the iPod stay.

Thanks.

i think the only way is to manually add the songs to the ipod instead of auto update.... but i'm not 100% sure

Control/right click on your iPod in the Sources list in iTunes, then go to iPod Options. You can then choose whether to sync your iPod's music library with your iTunes library, or to manually manage it (which is what you want).
