That's a pretty broad generalization don't you think?

I was just pointing out that the word you used to insult the Apple employee is offensive to some (including me) and you should think about what you call someone and what you post in a diverse enviroment such as this one.

Okay! sheesh! i'm so sorry if i offended anyone...

I must say, of all instances over a single word used by a poster, this is like the second biggest.

And, to those asking "...the first?" Remember back to the MWSF preview discussions about this and that coming out at or after the Expo? Those were some radical discussions... :)

über, this is a rated "PG" board and needs to be treated as a "PG" board. This isn't a type of board, where you express whatever language you want and be able get away with it. There is a profanity filter on the board. Using words not blocked by the filter, yet still considered explicit material and possibly offensive, may get you removed from the boards.

In some cases, such as this, you may attract negative attention to a great intensity. I don't want you to feel unwelcome, considering the "feedback" from your senario and your emotional standpoint from that senario, but the rules are the rules. If you really have to swear, use asterisks (****). I'm sure the users aboard will take pride in filling in the blanks. :p

Back to the topic at hand, that my iPod 5GB experienced the exact same senario as yours, über, and is not a rare issue. I've even had worse problems with my iPod, which I will not go into detail here. Also, I think your instruction manual, provided with your iPod, depicted the emergency reset that helped you out of the situation.

Regardless, it's fixed. But just keep your cool in these senarios.

Okay, thanks. I know I shouldn't say offensive things but then if everyone finds something offensive with one of my posts, i'd have to write the entire post using the asterisk.

I'm sorry for offending anyone. Didn't mean it and I will behave myself...it's just hard to control one's temper when one is angry.

HA!

No...mine is bigger than yours. :)

Actually in some way or another every single word in the english language is offensive to SOMEBODY.
Yeah like someone is going to be offended by the word "duck"...

QUACK! QUACK!

EEP!

hey! are you calling me a duck? we've got a problem if you're calling me a duck!

YOU'RE THE DUCK!

QUACK THAT!

you guys are so...
whatever.
Duck may be offensive to others because it has multiple meanings ;)

What on earth was 'EEP!' for?

No. Stop calling me über.
EEP was not offensive at all

Duck was offensive to my dad's coworker.
 a certain software developer at apple is eccentric. Okay, that word shouldn't really offend anyone...it certainly didn't offend the guy I'm talking about.

You guys don't know what EEP is?

The Wild EEP! The alert sound that was taken out from system 9 on, I loveb that little funny sound...

EEP!

AND I AM THE DUCK! QUACK!

Well, if you're offended by being called über, shall we call you unter?

That word....

I don't really see how that word can be offensive. I mean, everyone uses that word now. Gay...errr...homosexual people have practically turned it into what it means now. Did you know there was a football team in hawaii that wanted to change its name because they used to be the rainbows, but homos started putting rainbows on everything.

I dont understand all this stuff. Its wrong to call someone "black", but african american is ok. And Indian. Oh, I mean Native American.

Fag is a word...like moron. We are giving it a new meaning, and homos are getting upset because people say a word that THEY think pertains to them.

I think the F word (not f***) is sort of like the "n" word you MUST ALWAYS IF YOU MUST AT ALL use it with EXTREME care. This is completly off topic, lets get back to having fun!

QUACK! EEP!

don't you dare call me unter. über is not that great but what's best of all is if you actually call me by my real name. :(

what's your real name? while we're at it, what's your social security number?

Let's see...my real name is Ellen.
My social security number is 721-23-9182.
My credit card number is something.
The password to my iDisk is *********

Okay?

cool Ellen. pleased to make your acquaintance.

can I ask you, a... personal question?

Is your family name Feiss? ;-)

Hey Veronica. Nice to meet you too...rare to see a fellow female mac user on macrumors. sexism is so rampant in other forums.
