This may seem a bit strange and I'll try to make it short.

I listen to a 3 disc cd shelf system at night--it plays while I sleep. Now its acting up and not wanting to play the cds. Trying to fix it but I may have to find another way.

So I need to know the following things
1. Can an ipod be set to play a series of tracks all night long? Basically until I turn it off?
2. These ipod speaker systems I've seen will they work with only the ipod touch?
3. Does it matter which ipod touch I use? Thinking about getting a refurb from Gamestop as I already have an iphone and ipad rmini so I just need the ipod for my sleep music.

Sorry for the long post but I'm starting to realize that I might have to give up my old ways of listen to music and give up the cds. :(. Also sorry if some of these questions may seem stupid I did use the search option but couldn't find the exact answers. Thank you.

1. It should, considering it doesn't run out of battery.
2. The iPod speaker systems should also work on iPhone and possibly older iPods. Some docks won't fit the iPad rmini because it's too wide. Remember to check the connector and if it fits the iPod you might be going to buy.
3. Shouldn't, but check the connector.

Turns out my shelf system has a audio line in that works with Iphone. So all I'll need is an ipod of some sort. Has anyone ever purchased a used ipod from Gamestop?

Does it matter which ipod I get? I was thinking of either getting a used ipod nano either 6th or 7th generation. Or maybe an Ipod shuffle. I don't guess I really need to see the name of the songs.
