My current gen green Ipod shuffle won’t work properly after I accidentally plugged it in to the computer while it was still on. The lights are still on but they blink in a weird way, Itunes can see it as normal, but there is no audio coming from it.

    Please help.

    Perhaps try a reset?

Also, I would restart your computer. It is definitely worth doing on the off chance that there is some weird hang-up.

No this happened a year ago, haven’t touched the Ipod much since.

So how come you didn't post this a year ago?

Anyways have you tried restoring the iPod?

After resetting the Ipod I loaded it up with some music to test, when I unplugged it I already knew it wasn’t going to work because of one light sequence that’s been there since it stopped working.

When unplugging it from a power source it blinks with a long green light and a very short pause and a long green light for about 5 seconds. When booting it up it does the same sequence and it doesn’t work. When turning the power off it keeps blinking for about 2 seconds after I turned it off.

What I meant is restoring the software, not resetting the iPod.

    As per this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2270

That’s what I did. Restored it via Itunes.
When it’s connected with the computer it has the charging light just fine with a regular blinking orange/green light for when Itunes is doing things and a nice solid light when it charges. I can play music as normal from the ipod using itunes.

The battery holds a charge since its blinking and stuff, the memory chips work just fine since I can still read/write files on it. So it won’t be the battery or storage at fault.

So a year ago this breaks and today you're just chilling out and thought you'd ask for help now?

If you know it is not the battery or the storage itself then there is really only one piece left. It sounds like it is toast. I'd ask if you had a warranty but you waited a year after it was broken to even ask for help so there is that. Time to toss it, I suppose.

I live in sweden so if stuff breaks without you doing something dumb to it within 3 years you get a replacement/refund so I haven’t really bothered with that yet since the nearest apple store is 15km away.

I say it's time to bother before that 3 years is up.

2 years left… If I ever get the feeling to go there I’ll go.

    Sounds like a plan.

Or have you tried calling and asking them to post you a box to send it in?
