So I recently got the new 6th gen iPod a few weeks ago, it was working awesomely, but it just shut off randomly on me and was completely unresponsive (battery was at 100%) I plugged it in and pressed the home and lock button but no go. But then I just left it there and a few moments later it came on, no data was lost and it is working now, but heck... Im worried now, and I'm wondering if I should contact Apple and ask if they would even think of giving me a new one since its past the 14 days. I don't want to keep a faulty $300 iPod.
Anyone else have issues like this?

Kal.

I had this happen to my iPod touch 5th and now my 6th gen. A simple fix for me was to push the home button and the home button simultaneously until apple logo came up. When it happened on the 5th gen for me, it only happened once and had no issues afterward.

I would keep an eye on your device and see if it happens again then if that is the case ring apple.

Yeah I held down the buttons but perhaps didn't wait to see if it worked, instead I did that then set it down and left it for about 5-10 seconds before it decided to come back to life. lol

I guess the big question would be is this Software or Hardware?

My 5 does that all the time. I real pain especially when you depend on the alarm to wake you up. My new 6 never shuts down by itself. I wish I had taken back my 5 while it was still under warranty but now am stuck with it. Don't make the same mistake. Take it back

But will they take it back since its been aroun 24 days?

I don't think they will take it back as the return policy is 14 days. But it doesn't hurt to try. Otherwise if you are really concerned about it then go see a genius and see if they can run diagnostic.

For me though, this isn't a concern for me as of yet as it only happened once. Not sure what happened but haven't had any issues since it happened once.

Hello everyone, I purchased my 128gb touch6 on the 9th and it shut down yesterday- but I had taken my headphones out and tried to plug in another pair (Audio Technica ATM-50's) and with the case I have, they really wouldn't go in.
I did the reset (top and home buttons) and have been fine for 24 hours.
Now, if it happens to me again I would be tempted to return with it on day 14 (this Sunday) but I would like to think it was an isolated incident.
