so I upgraded the pwnage tool to the latest via the update feature build in, and I got a 2.0.1 firmware file for iphone 3g, when I tried to build the custom firmware it says wrong file, am I doing something wrong?

it finds the old 2.0 fine but when I add the new file it says wrong file.

Please help thanks in advance.

I downloaded the file from your guide and still doesn't find the firmware only the old one.

is there a firmware 2.0.1? is that what I am supposed to use for pwnage?
or am I supposed to use 2.0 with the new pwnage tool for 2.0.1?
confused

If you have 2.0 your iTunes will give you the updated 2.0.1 firmware.

Winpwn 2.0.0.4 (. http://Www.winpwn.com. .)

Works with 2.0 & 2.0.1

2 - Get Your IPSW File Ready
a) 2g iPhones - 3g iPhones - iPod Touch 1.1.5
b) iPod Touch owners that have already purchsed the 2.0 update can browse to “c:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates\”.

okay, im trying to jailbreak my 2.0.1 touch and i have 2 options:

my laptop runs on XP, i go to c:\documents and settings\user\ and i cant find the application data folder unfortunately, originally i DID install 2.0 on my PC though. (i dont know if that matters)

and my second option is my PC running vista, vista doesnt have "documents and settings" anymore, so where would i look?

any replies will help!
