iPod iPod Touch 2G not turning on or connecting.

Hi! Recently I have found my lost iPod Touch 2G. I charged for a while and noticed the screen was white. I could still restore, sync and even slide my finger across the white screened bottom and get the sound. I believed that it was the LCD problem. The next day my iPod won't even turn on, or connect. I have left it charging on both the outlet and my computer but i don't know if it was charging. The screen remains black. I have tried to restore by pressing the two buttons and dfu mode, but it remains black with no apple logo or any sign of power.

Could be water damage....

Likely a hardware problem though.
