Recently, my friends iPod Touch 2G speaker stopped working. The volume controls dissappear as soon as I remove the headphones. If I put it on the dock, the speaker/volume controls works. If I remove it from the (iPhone) dock, the speaker works for 4-5 seconds and then stops. If I put it on the dock, and unplug the dock USB cable, the speaker works until I remove it from the dock.
I've tried a reboots, restore, an update, blowing compressed air into dock/headphone ports, plugging the headphone in and out several times, but nothing seems to work.
Any suggestions?
