iPod touch Ipod Touch 2G: Won't Turn On/Jailbroken

Earlier today, on my way to school, I had my Ipod Touch 2G plugged into my car adapter and I was listening to some music. After awhile, the sound started coming out of the speaker of the Ipod rather than the car. I tried pushing it in as I always did, but it kept on. When I got to school, I tried to turn the volume up to listen to a song but every time I touched the side volume buttons, the ipod turned off. This persisted for quite awhile, and then the volume started to go down all by itself. Finally, I restarted it and then turned it off again. Unfortunately, when I tried turning it back on it would not. My dilemma is this: my Ipod is jailbroken, and I cannot reset it because it will not turn on. Also, I do not have my warranty paper or the box it came in. Is it a lost cause?

Well you should be able to have it serviced based on the serial. Plus since 2G came out in September, it is within the year service period regardless of if you have the papers. If it wont power up at all, even when plugged in, Apple might not notice you jailbroke it.
 
You dont have to send it in the same thing happend to me =[

i turned off my ipod after i jailbroke it (ipod 2g) and it would nit turn back on
what i did was restored it in itunes and re-jailbroke it and it works fine now.
 
dude, my won't turn on, its on the black screen and i tried to put it in DFU mode, but i held it for 30 seconds and it won't open!!
 
Same thing, also another problem

My Ipod Touch 2g is jailbroken and I shut it off because it was freezing and exiting apps unexpectedly. Wouldn't turn on and it said unknown device on computer and not shown in itunes!!!!

Any help!!!!????

Put it into DFU mode, and then do a restore in iTunes and rejailbreak it.

But you have your other thread about the same subject, please keep the discussion there.
 
It's not shown or read in itunes! I can't do a restore because it doesn't have any devices attatched. Mines attatched of course, but it's now unknown and I had it working fine and it was known on itunes and on my computer. If it was read in itunes it would have been working 2 hours ago! I don't know what else to do. Got any other ideas???

guys,i need help,before i went asleep last night,i got this thing for SBSetting on my jailbroken ipod touch 2g,and i did a refresh on it when cydia was reloading data,and i did the emergencey shut off -power button + home button- and tried turninjg it back on this morning,and it wouldnt turn on,and i tried to put it in DFU mode,and it wouldnt turn on,and i was wondering three ideas:
ONE : is there a way i can possibly repair it with out sending it to :apple:


TWO : is there a person that will work on it not from :apple:

THREE : is it possible i can send it to :apple:,and let them fix it without notcing its jailbroken

please help

:apple: sign appeard on my ipod!!!heres how it works

1ST:put ur ipod in dfu mode by holdng the home and power/sleep button for 10 seconds,then just keep holding the home button WHILE PLUGGED INTO UR COMPUTER,and keep it like that till itunes pulls up on ur computer,and press restore,wait for it to rstore,amnd ur ipod works!!!HOPE IT HELPS!!!:D

guys,if you have stuff like my ipod,free downloaded music,cracked apps,etc. you could be in alot of trouble if u send it to apple
first because apple thinks there should be restrictions on ipods,taking the fact it takes so long to jailbreak them,2nd,cracked apps are paid apps u got for free,NOT from the app store discounts,and 3rd,becaue music is suppose to be .99 each,free music is strictly not allowed,thats why im always careful,and always serfch whats wrong,and fixz it
 
No complaints about people jailbreaking (it's their device) but why do they always complain when their touch doesn't work properly after jailbreaking ? You jailbreak at your own risk.
 
Well my iPod shut off and did tha whole volume thing but I didn't jailbreak anything ... Dont even kno what that is. Whats the deal?

hey guys i oneday saw the new text free app and i wanted to get it and i tried but it wudnt ork because my ipod was jalbroken so i tried to manually reset it but when i did that it just keep turning off and wudnt even go to the app menu home thing it just loads all tht text befor it starts then it restarts how do i fix it?????

hey guys, i jailbroke my ipod touch 2g and got bored of it so i left it unused for a couple weeks. the batter was already drained when i stopped using it. now it won't turn on, it won't charge from the computer or from the wall charger. my windows machine doesn't even make a sound to say it's connected and there is no response on my mac.

i've tried resetting, going into dfu mode but nothing works. it's totally unresponsive. anyone got any solution? out of warranty by the way.

hi im having the same pproblem but i have 8g please tell me what did u do n did ur ipod worked?
 
i'm at a loss

ok so yesterday an all of today i've been trying to get my ipod touch 2g to work again. i jailbroke it with blackra1n and its on 3.1.2 firmware if that make a difference. i know about the tethering crap and how you need to press the make it ra1n button again, but its not letting me get passed the face that pops up. i've tryed forced restart but that just brings me back to the screen saying i need to reconnect to itunes. i cannot just hit restore because it says something like it can't be recognized. i've been trying different sites, tons of youtube videos, an none of them helped. is it even worth trying anymore or am i stuck? i would really appreciate and help. thanks
 
what To Do

My Ipod Touch 2g (8gb ) wont turn back to the home screen . i jailbreak my ipod & i turned it off & now it wont turn on . everytime i restore it on itunes when it get to 5 the ipod dissconnect by itself . idk what to do , should i take it back where i bought it or to the apple store or do you have something to help me ! i also dont remember where i jailbreaked my ipod -.- please reply .
