I know "Dev-Team" and "Chronic Dev Blog" are the sites trying to make jailbreaking 2nd gen ipod touch possible but any idea of a time frame when it might be done? Appreciate any help/info.

I could have sworn that they already did it.

They did, but its a tetherd jailbreak, need to be at your computer if you want to turn your ipod on, and its complicated to jailbreak it, its not user friendly.

They actuallyy already did it but it's not very user friendly so you should just wait it out

Isn't all jailbreaking tethered now? The only one I know of that wasn't tethered was that tiff exploit in 1.1.1

All current jailbreak methods do require that the Touch (or iPhone) be connected to your computer via the USB cable during jailbreak. However, the "tethered" jailbreak for the 2nd gen Touch requires that the device be connected to a computer every time you reboot or turn it back on after it has been turned off.

Well that sounds annoying and impractical...
