iPod touch 3G 3.1.3 not syncing music after restore

My friend has a 3rd gen touch running 3.1.3 that has been jailbroken, he was having issues with it so he restored it. After that the iPod will not sync anything but Photos. He has tried restoring it again and again but to no avail.

Has your friend tried putting his iTouch in DFU mode when restoring? DFU usually works good. 🙂
