i got this iPod Touch 3Gen 32GB happy user of it.

but over time i have seen it collecting under the screen, i use the iPod Socks apple made.

but today I plugged my Apple Headphones in, and the sound is weird, i have to turn the cable around, and sometimes the sound is correct.

will apple replace it?

it's still under warranty.

Ask apple. Not here. And no, they won't replace it because of the dust. You have a better shot with the sound issue.

They should. It's a manufacturing flaw, the device shouldn't let dust inside (I've had a touch replaced due to dust before, and many people on these forums have gotten iPod/iPhone replacements due to dust). If the genius at the store is stubborn though, the sound issue should definitely get it replaced. Only with another 3rd gen though, I'll point out :)
