iPod touch iPod touch 4g cracked screen

So my sister just dropped her iPod touch 4g and screen is destroyed. I got it for her in april with no applecar or anything. But i know it falls into the one year warranty period. I also know that isnt usually covered. But I was wondering what my chances would be of Apple being really cool and fixing it for a reasonable price? Any thoughts?

if you take it to a genius bar they might fix it. but it would probably just be cheaper to find a replacement part and do it yourself. however, repairing it yourself WILL VOID THE WARRANTY!

Genius bar, that's the only safe way to fix it.

F it's still in warranty I'd try and go to the Genius Bar.

Genius Bars Vary

Sometimes you get a really helpful representative who will bend the rules and help you out....Sometimes you get zip. If you have friends who have any experience of a good Apple store then thats where I'd take it.
