I'm looking at getting some kind of FM transmitter for my 4th gen touch. Griffin seem to be the leaders with the iTrip, but on their site they state the gadget only going as far as the 3rd gen.

Can anyone shed any light on whether it;ll work ok with 4th, or if there are any other good brands out there that will?

Cheers.

Should work fine with the 4th gen. I have the Griffin iTrip auto universal plus. It works great. I know it doesn't have the 30 pin cable like the other ones do, but it does have usb so you can plug the cable into it and it charges fine.

So does that mean I'd have to use a cable? I'm really looking for one that I can just clip into the bottom of the ipod, I won't need a charger etc...

Those should work just fine as well. Since they use iOS software to control them, you shouldn't have any issues with compatibility.
