iPod Touch 5 charging

Does anyone know if I can use my USA iPod Touch 5 wall charger that is attached to a USB cord and bring it to Europe? I want to buy a European wall charger and plug it into my USB cord then directly plug it into their wall outlet. I DO NOT want to use a transformer with a USA wall charger. Will the European wall charger over charge my iPod Touch? Right now I can only charge it for 30 minutes at a time due to the 220v that Europe has. Please help
