I know there have been posts for this topic before, but I've tried all the solutions I have found so far, and so I want to know if there's anything I could do. I don't want to rely on resetting the device to factory settings every single time because I've already done that twice (I just reset it yesterday, the first time being some time ago). Is there any other solution to this?

You could wipe, restore, and setup as a new iPod instead of resetting the settings. If this fails then you have a hardware issue that needs a repair.

In addition to the below quoted text, might I suggest you do a DFU restore (with the iPod touch plugged into your computer and with iTunes open, hold down sleep/wake and home for ten seconds, then release sleep/wake while still holding down home for another five more seconds; if you see your iPod touch rebooting, you did it wrong; try again; ultimately, you shouldn't see anything on your screen and iTunes should tell you that you connected an iPod in recovery mode; then restore as per usual) as that will more thoroughly resolve those kinds of issues.
