iPod touch ipod touch 5th gen notifications issue

I have a 5th gen ipod touch that works great. However I keep getting app notifications like "you have lives" or whatever. It's really annoying, and I can't find the option to turn off the notifications, like I can on the ipad. I can uninstall the apps, but I was hoping I dont have to.

Look for that app and make sure all sliders are set to off
