That's it. Broken screen on the touch 5th gen, no supply specifically labeled for it. Would the Iphone 5 or 5s's do it?

Unlikely. My iPod 4th gen screen should have been the same as the iPhone 4/4s, but it had poor viewing angles. So the iPod screens are different, although I don't know if its related to price or thickness.

I saw some on eBay that are for the iPod touch.

It looks like in Europe is much easier to find models labeled as "for iphone" (5, 5s, et alii.).
Those are actually cheap, indeed (29€ w/toolkit).
Yeah, there may be some internal difference, even though resolution & size wise are apparently the same.
