Anyone with a new iPod Touch notice no floor climbed appear in the health app?

or is it an iOS8 thing? Has anything tried with iOS9?

Thanks in advance.

The iPod touch 6th gen doesn't have a barometer so can't track floor climbing as it can't calculate the air pressure change.

According to various sources the M8 features a barometer (which is used to count floors)

M8 coprocessor. Technology that moves you forward.
When you’re in motion, the M8 motion coprocessor continuously measures data from the accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, and a new barometer. This offloads work from the A8 chip for improved power efficiency. And now those sensors do even more, measuring your steps, distance, and elevation changes

I'm using iOS9 and it mostly works. The portrait-to-landscape screen rotation and parallax effect aren't working, and there are some weird problems with audiobooks. Haven't noticed problems with health apps.

That's the M8 in the iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6 though - sadly the iPod touch version doesn't have that according to the official specs. Check the list of sensors listed here:
http://www.apple.com/uk/ipod-touch/specs/
and compare to the iPhone 6:

The iPod touch is missing: Proximity sensor, barometer, ambient light sensor and Touch ID.

That's really disappointing to know! I wonder why they didn't bother to add a barometer?

More than barometer, I wish it had GPS. The chip would have cost all of five dollars and made this thing 100% more useful.

It does work quite well with Moves. I cycle to work and it was pretty accurate considering no GPS. Picked up the times/distance I cycled and moments I walked. So the M8 is definitely holding cycling info.
