MY ipod is a 32 gig and ive had it for about a year or two and i went on vacation and when i came back i turned it on and it died and now it only charges when it is completely dead and turns off, i ordered a new battery for it but i am unsure if it will work or not, does anybody know if the battery is the problem?

They sell for about $15, but the one I bought is failing after some 20 charge cycles. There's a lot of junk out there and with 14 000 Km and an impenetrable network of distributors between the manufacturer and the consumer buying these batteries is a crapshoot. I'm still looking but discouraged.

[doublepost=1541609738][/doublepost]Sounds like the battery is failing. Didi you try to put into diagnostic mode? if you can get to an Apple store you can get an informed opinion. Their batteries are top quality, the service is expensive but I think it's worth the price but I'm not sure they still service this model,

The folks at the Apple say they no longer sell these, no longer service them and don't sell batteries. Bought a Cameron Sino battery and will report the results.

Are you sure they were talking about the 6th generation or was it the 5th generation which looks very similar?
