iPod touch iPod touch 7th won’t turn on

Apple store is closed so I ordered a 6th gen one and I will sell the 7th once I get it fixed.
I can only assume the battery has died I have used an iPad charger and often charged it over night could this affect it or is it just a faulty unit? I had the 6th before and no issues

I'm assuming you contacted Apple correct? It is a newer device and it will have a 12 month warranty, what did Apple say?
