Thought I'd start a thread for this in the iPod touch forum. Anyway, about how much are you getting out of a full charge?

My experience is qualitative more than quantitative; it would be hard for me to stick exact numbers on it. I remember when my iPod Touch 4 was new, it seemed like I could do whatever--the battery would last. Now, I find myself being very stingy with my usage in order to get through the day: lower brightness, FaceTime off, messages off, bluetooth off, airplane mode when I'm not checking something. Ridiculous really. Play a little video…and I go from 80% to "below 20%" very rapidly. The only consolation is that all the folks who got the so called "new" iPod Touch (white with iOS 5), really just have the same thing I have. I miss having the new battery, but at least the hardware is current.

hoping this was just a one off for me

iPod fully charged yesterday and updated the software

listened to music for 3 hours last night, this morning battery on approx 20%

before update the battery bar would have hardly moved with this amount of usage, need to monitor it for a few more days

I do pretty well if I'm just listening to music. That's the reason I bought it, after all. It's just a shame that heavy usage of the other features makes such a difference to the battery life.

if im using wifi is on and im using an app like less than an hour, listening to music it lasts a while. If its just sitting there with wifi on then it still drains like crazy. I have a 2g. it also takes like 30 minutes to charge.

Only 30 minutes to charge? have you tried draining it fully?

I forget to put mine.

I usually last the whole day whether on week days or weekends. After each update, i fully drain the battery and recharge, because somehow the battery meter is inaccurate when you update.

Wifi: always on
icloud: off
about 7 things in the notification center
no stock or weather widget
location: off
ping: off
wifi sync: off

I could get through a couple days on a full charge but I always charge it at night.

Let me say, I tried to go on tapatalk for about 30 seconds and my battery drained like 10% then went back up, odd

Yes. I think the batteries is just done. Only 2 years of use wow products need to last longer.

In the diagnostic log, when you reach below 20% battery, I think it says you use time,

so here's mine

usage 7 hours 2 minutes
standby 18 hours 37 minutes.

it that good battery?

Mine is a 3G, and since last recharge, i've been using it to surfe here, and using the touch as much as i could, and the last full recharge was a week ago, and im down to 77% on my battery, and im at ios 4.3.3

So mine is very good at the moment, i think. Anyone else with same?
I play also angry birds a lot, bowling, and wifi is on all time, still my battery is only down by 23% for a week usage, i think that is good..

update on mine, I used it from about 12pm-10pm moderate use and I dropped down to 20%. I used to get a lot more without 5.0.1.

That is not fair.

With my 4th gen iPod touch running iOS 5.0.1 I'm able to get half a day or so out of a battery charge.

Okay, its been a week since my last post here in this thread, and my battery is still going. Now down to 48% and i have been using it every day, and im having trouble to drain it fully down b4 i recharge it again, so i think the battery is VERY good. still on IOS 4.3.3 and using it for playing listen to music and surf the net plus i use it on Cydia to download apps, wallpapers themes etc. So i think im pretty good at the moment. I wont change the IOS to 5.x.x

Anyone else with this good batterylife on their iPod Touch 3G with IOS 4.3.3?:p

After 15 days and some hours it died, and i had to recharge it fully, so who can tell me the same for an iPod Touch 3G with 4.3.3 JB, and has the same battery life as mine? I would say that is very good if you ask me.

I'll maybe post an update later in 15 day's time or so, i'll see if i can make the battery life go any longer then 15 days..

Nothing unusual, surfing here and there, listen to music, playing angry birds, bowling. And updating some components from cydia, thats all. Oh, yes, i turned off location services, all notifications off, only thing i kept on was WI-FI..

epic battery, I have location off and 5 notifications, maybe its just ios 5

8 days ago i fully recharged my iPod Touch 3rd Gen, and im down to 77% now, and still going. Surfing news sites, playing games, mostly Angry Birds and bowling, and the battery is still good, so i guess i was lucky when i baught this ipod. I also have JB'ed it when i got it, i thought that would change the batterylife tho, but it did'nt, so i hope this is good, and i will post another post in 7 day's or so to tell how far down the battery is gone..
