So far I've squeezed 3 days out of mine with 49% battery. Didn't majorly use it either. Checked facebook +mail, played angry birds for maybe 5 minutes, youtube for probably 17 minutes. Also its fetching email every hour and always getting facebook notifications.

Sqeeuzed 4 days until it drained to 0%, I could get much longer doing what I do normally. It was mostly in standby

Ever since the new major firmware update, barely two days, and thats with just using the device as an alarm:eek:

iPod touch 64gb 3rd gen. It's 2 years, 4 months old.

I measure my battery life religiously. It used to get 26-30 hours playback, now I get about 12-13 hours playback.

I only use it for MP3s, my phone does everything else. WiFi is off, brightness is about 1/8, no app usage (though Angry Birds and PvZ are installed), location is off, iOS 4.3.x.
It usually takes me 3-5 days to drain the battery to < 20%.

I charge mine about once a week using it as a alarm daily, 2 hours of music a day, and about 1 hour of pandora a week
I'm happy with my battery life
This is on a iPod touch 4g that I got on launch day

Note: if I play some apps it effectively cuts the time in half :/

I've had mine shut down since monday with about 90% battery, I am hoping it didn't drop that much.

Oh, thats why I was confused because of the recycling site. (I don't recycle )

iPod Touch Battery going Crazy

My iPod Touch is so low on battery that it won't turn on, and it shows the symbol to charge. I plug it in to my MacBook Pro 17" until it allows me to unlock my iPod Touch. I turn it off, then turn it back on... Hey Presto! Its on full battery! There must be a problem. Anyone have any ideas? Its already updated to 5.1.

it depends everyone's use that who much you use your ipod.. i use my ipod mostly in traveling and i can listen music up to three and half hours continuously...!

Apple says you can get 40 hours of music playback so I would think that's reasonable

Heavy iPod touch user these holidays and i get about 8-9 hours pretty good. charge it every night

Around 3-4 days. I use games/apps for like 30 mins everyday, I check notifications and listen to music for about 4-5 hours a day. It's pretty good. I bought it around a month ago

Of course, the 3-4 days isn't continuous use.

Upgraded to 5.0.1 untethered last week (from 4.1 untethered). The battery life was never great, but now its just plain bad. With wi-fi on, I can play a game (such as Infinity Blade II or GTA3 or whatever) for an hour. Goes down to 20%. Leave it. Come back an hour later, its at half. Goes down to 20% again this time but much sooner. When I let it die and charge it, I can't tell when its full because it turns on when it charges and it shows full really quickly. When I turn it off, I can't see how much its getting charged. Any ideas or apps to help me track all of this and get a better idea? Honestly, I wouldn't even bother getting something new if I could figure out how to improve my battery life. Maybe another firmware upgrade might fix it. Sigh.

My stock 1st generation is giving me around 7-8 hours of music playback.
Bought 2nd hand so I`ve no idea if it`s on the original battery, if it is then that seems quite good to me.
Don`t use it for anything other than music tho...
