I know that this is normal but I was just wondering:
Why does Apple advertise a 16GB iPod Touch when the capacity is 14.84GB (over 1GB under the advertised capacity)?
    Just a question...
Thanks in advance for any answers :)

Thats how much it holds not how much free space it has. Not necessarily 16 gig of data and apps.

Drive capacity is advertised in 1000's of bits, but computer read and display them in 1024 bit measures... so 16GB = 16 billion bits, which is 15.6Gb or so.

Then you have another few hundred megs being used for the OS and programs. There's probably some cache space for Safari in there somewhere, too.

    Hope that answers your question.
