Got it at Best Buy

Props for the Griffin Reflect

I was in Toronto last week and after a lot of searching finally got my hands on the Griffin Reflect. Found it at the Apple Store after looking everywhere else. I think Apple bought out the stock for the city! Anyway, it's an absolutely, absolutely brilliant case. $5 more than in the States but I'm not too bothered. It's well worth the wait.

The bezel is a reflective dark chrome with hint of a bronze hue. Looking at the product shots on Griffin's website I was concerned the chrome was pure silver and that it would distract from the screen, but it's dark and not distracting at all. The back is black plastic with a rubberized outer surface that's easy to grip. It lets you rest the touch on your pants leg without much concern of it falling off (unless you move or get bumped, of course.) It comes with a screen protector and a Griffin-embossed polishing cloth, too. It's the slickest hard case out there, IMO. Folks at work seem really impressed, too. Dropped jaws, wows, etc. :p

It's also a very snug fit over the touch. Some people complained about how Griffin's iClear can be difficult to remove. Haven't taken the Reflect off yet, but considering how it holds the touch, I'll be sure to be careful.

I picked up the contour showcase, assuming that I'd like it as much as I liked the showcase I bought for my 5G. Honestly, I feel like it's not as good for the touch. In particular, the single, super long sliding piece of plastic for 'unlocking' the case and letting it come open is just perfectly so that my hand unlatches it when I hold it in my left hand. It unlatches really easily. The pair of latches on the 5G case was much more secure.

Plus, as someone noted, these kinds of cases really do a number on the tactile feel of holding the touch in your hand. I hadn't expected that to bother me as much as it seems to. Quandary: Protection vs. aesthetic experience...

im thinking of getting a case, but in some places i go (like cafes or restaurants with wifi) i dont get a really good signal. will a case effect it at all? or will it be barely noticabel?

Mine does'nt do that. I like that I have a firm grip on the touch with the case, the DLO Videoshell I had felt it would slip out of my hand constantly

this thread needs more links.

any way i have the DLO Hipcase. it's ok, but i'd rather have another case. it's hard to hit the Home button, and the touch slips out of it a little too easily for my liking (that may be a plus for some people, though). But it does come with some pretty good screen protectors, lol.
