I just got a new ipod but it doesnt want to do the first charge...
how long should it take, should i drain it then do the first charge.
it is week 44.
it looks as if it came fully charged!

It doesn't really matter, it's somewhat healthy to do that every once in awhile, but doesnt matter if it's the first charge or not.

When fully charged, drain it completely. Once it shuts off, plug it in, but dont turn it on. Let it recharge fully. What this will do is calibrate it, mainly to ensure that you get a more accurate battery life estimate, but it's healthy for a batter to go through a full charge cycle once in awhile, maybe once a month or so.

I used mine right away as well.

Plugged it into a temp PC just so I could get the ball rolling.

Got back home a couple of days later and synced with my normal PC.

And pretty much just keep using it til it's drained, then plug in to the PC overnight, and repeat.

No problems thus far.
