My mother got an iPod touch from the Apple refurb store recently in an OS-less diag only mode. Wondering if it has any value as a collectible or should she just return it? Attached a couple pics of what it looks like. Thanks!

Is it just me or does that say 1.1.4? That's a super old version of the OS. I'd definitely contact Apple if I was you. Sure, it's cool, but on the other hand you did pay for a fully functioning device...
